What happens if the join teamspace link expires?

All invitations to join a teamspace expire after 1 week – If the link has expired, just send a new one to get your team onboarded.

What do I do about my old, non-Teamspace email account?

You can connect it as an extra account to enjoy Spike’s unified inbox. Click on your profile picture in the top left corner to open the main menu, and select ‘Add Account’ to connect additional email accounts to Spike.

How do I get rid of that .spike.team in my email address?

If you wish to get rid of the .spike.team part of your email address, you can either buy a new domain or bring your own.

How do I communicate with someone who’s not in my Teamspace?

There are two ways to communicate with people who aren’t in your Teamspace:

1. A private Group. Yes! The same private Group can be used to chat with people who aren’t in your organization.
2. Or, you can send them a private message.

Can I send a direct message on Spike?

On top of channels and groups, Spike also offers direct messages.

Want to send a message to a specific team member or someone outside your organization? Your @teamspace address also serves as an email address!

Just click on the blue pen icon to open the new message window. Type the person’s name or email address in the “To” field and chat on.

What if I change my phone number?

If you change your number, contact support at support@spikenow.com so we can assist switch the phone number on file.

How do I join a channel?

Channels are open to all teamspace members, meaning if a colleague in the teamspace creates a new channel, you will be automatically included in it.
If you are working on a project in a small group, simply open a private group.

What if I join an existing Channel?

No worries!
The entire Channel history will always be visible, even to new team members, so it’s easy for everyone to stay in the loop. Simply scroll up to see messages that were sent before you joined the channel.

Why can’t I see notifications for my channel?

Unlike the General channel, new channels are muted by default. See here how to turn on notifications for a channel.

How can I delete a channel?

Channels cannot be deleted by design. You can leave a channel or auto archive it.

How can I invite a list of people to a teamspace, channel or group?

To invite multiple people at once on Desktop or Spike web, you can copy a list of email addresses separated by commas and then paste it into the invite field.

Why do we use one-time passwords (OTP)?

One-time passwords provide you with a convenient and secure solution to log into your teamspace account. There is no need to remember another password, your OTP gets sent to your phone as an SMS and expires after five minutes – talk about easy peasy.

What if I want to delete my teamspace?

If you wish to delete your teamspace, shoot us a message to support@spikenow.com and we be glad to assist you.

How can I remove a member from my teamspace?

Admins can remove teammembers from the teamspace through the teamspace admin page. If you happen to have a new teammember who wishes to use the same username as a person who was previously removed, kindly send us a message so we can assist you with this.
